Meet to discuss books of different genres the first Monday of each month. The July selection is The Mickey7 by Edward Ashton (science fiction). Mickey7 is an Expendable—a disposable employee on a human expedition. Whenever a mission is too dangerous—even suicidal—the crew turns to Mickey. After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most memories intact. Then Mickey7 goes missing and is presumed dead. By the time it returns to the colony base, there’s a new clone, Mickey8, reporting for duty.
